Indications of Dhara in Ayurveda

Dhara refers to the pouring of the medicinal liquid over the stipulated body part.
Post therapeutic procedure
After the patient has risen from the tub,he should be massaged till the oil is absorbed well
Indications
In nocturnal fever sirodhara with milk is prescribed.In peptic ulcer case takradhara is indicated.In facial palsy dhara is indicated for body and head with bala taila.In diabetes takradhara is advocated.In conditions of burning sensation and thirst in diabetes abyanga is advised with laksadi taila is said to reduce prameha,burning sensation,increased micturition and nurtures body.Dhara with milk is indicated in diarrohea.Sirodhara with milk indicated in menorrhagia.Dhara with tender coconut water and milk is indicated in Jaundice associated with dizziness.Sirodhara with the juice of bringaraja is recommended in kamala.Immediately after burns should be done either with buttermilk ,salt water,tender coconut water,honey,priyala thyla.When inflicted with lightening dhara with cane juice,dhartrirasa with ghee and salt
